We all appreciate the Gavin Macleod photographs snapped at Borrowdale Park but on Sunday he really kept his cool and pressed the right button just when Golden Mystery – a filly he part owns, and trains – appeared to be headed by a fast finishing Jinx Johnson.
However Golden Mystery (below, nearest camera) with Andrew Fortune up, wasn’t having that and fought back to win the Breeders Fillies Mile, beating Jinx Johnson (Randall Simons) by half a length. Lady Carina and Explorer’s Club, third and fourth, finished several lengths back.
The daughter of Main Aim (GB) was bred by Ormonde Ferraris and is owned by Gavin, Mark Wood and Dave Rosser. The two-year-old filly gave her sire, Main Aim, his first winner.
Sunday was the Breeders Day at Borrowdale, and ZTBA Chairman, Kevin Fallon, and ZTBA Council Member, Sally Hale, were there to hand out the prizes. Robyn Macleod is holding the Fillies Mile trophy (and Gavin was taking the picture).
Congratulations to everyone concerned.
