Last, but not least, of the six winners from the Swanson yard at Borrowdale Park on the 22nd of June 2025, was Majestic Warrior, who won the 1260 Pinnacle Plate 105 for Duncan and Jackie Cocksedge.
Deryl Daniels piloted the Master Of My Fate gelding to his fifth win. Ndoro Stud bred the five-year-old who beat Var Aglow by two lengths.

The Gorringes and company bagged two winners at Borrowdale on the 22nd of June – King’s Crown and Magic Exists. Well done, all of you. Your continued support of racing in Zimbabwe is appreciated.
King’s Crown got going in the 1700m Borrowdale C Stakes 75 with Deryl Daniels in the irons. Bred by Stone Hill Stud, this was the three-year-old Royal Mo (USA) gelding’s fourth victory. Trained by Debra Swanson, King’s Crown is owned by Messrs P D Gorringe, S P Gorringe, V Patel and D K Ward.
Magic Exists, winner of the 1450m Pinnacle Plate 85, is owned by Messrs P D Gorringe, S P Gorringe, V Patel, D K Ward & M W Smith. He is also from the Swanson yard, and Daniels was riding on Sunday. By Alado(GB), the three-year-old gelding bred by Oldlands Stud, has now won five races.
Good as it is to see the old timers in the money, isn’t it time for some youngsters to step up to the plate? Forming a syndicate is not difficult. Provided there are enough of you (20?) it is both affordable and fun.
So come on. I dare you.

Congratulations Ms TB Hlupo! How smart is it to own an unraced two-year-old who wins her first start at Borrowdale Park?
On Sunday, the 22nd of June 2025, Ziwewere, with Keven Derere up, won the 1100m New Galaxy Maiden Plate. By Royal Mo (USA) and bred by Geoff Armitage, the Debra Swanson-trained filly beat another first timer, Matilda Fitzwalter (Daniels) by a length.
After that, Debra was on a roll. King’s Crown (Daniels) won the 1700m Borrowdale C 75 Stakes; Red Top (Daniels) the 1100m Classified Stakes; Magic Exists (Daniels), the 1450m Pinnacle Plate 85; Ultimate Jewel (Derere) the 1600m MR 91 Handicap, and finally Majestic Warrior (Daniels) took the 1260m Pinnacle Plate 105.
What a day, Debra…

She’s Everything won the 2025 Silver Slipper (L) at Borrowdale Park on Sunday, finishing 13 lengths clear of Burn Bright.
The Erupt (IRE) filly was bred by Narrow Creek Stud and is owned by the Brumby Syndicate (Nominee: Grant Littleford). Amy Parham trains her, and Philasande Mxoli was the successful jockey.
The start of this race, the second leg of Zimbabwe’s Triple Tiara, was confusing, to put it mildly, and I can’t wait to read the Stipe’s Report.
Congratulations to the winning connections.
