The Argonaut colt, Demagogue, will race at Turffontein tomorrow (Sunday). He is carded in Race 4, a Merit Rated 74 Handicap over 1000m, which is due off at 13.45.

There is no racing at Borrowdale Park until September 6 and trainer Gokhan Terzi has also taken Rock The Country and Principled Man to Gauteng where they will race over a period of three weeks.

Demagogue won two of his only three starts in Zimbabwe – both over 1000m. Terzi reports all the horses travelled well and have settled in their new surroundings. He believes Demagogue should run a place but doesn’t expect it to be easy. Regular jockey Apprentice Wesley Marwing has the ride.

This is a courageous move on Terzi’s part which will be watched with interest. With races few and far between at Borrowdale cross-border raids could be helpful, providing the horses run into the money.
