First up was The Mutineer in the 1200m Merit Rated 70 Handicap, starting price 20/1, beating stable mate Porterhouse, Lost Island and Gotago. Juan Paul van der Merwe had the ride and the Mullins Bay (GB) gelding is owned by Mrs A. Marwing, and was bred by Summerhill Stud.

Anthony’s Lazer (below), with Brendon McNaughton aboard, won the last race of the day, an 1100m MR 50 Handicap, starting price 40/1. The Tiger Dance (USA) colt was involved in a tight finish with Flintstone, winning margin 0.50 lengths.
