FAH FEE SAFE AND WELL

Castle Tankard runner Fah Fee has arrived safely in Harare.

Gavin Macleod reports “A very good trip with Equine Carriers up to Beitbridge, through both Customs in one hour twenty minute, with agents Cargo Services and Freight World on the ball.

“Overnight spent with Chris Lee at Lion & Elephant, who has built new stables and paddocks for horses.

“An easy trip up to Harare, unloaded at Borrowdale at exactly one o’clock, followed by a long walk and head straight into the manger.

“On Wednesday morning Fah Fee worked an easy 1600m on the heavy sand and will do a strong 1600m on Thursday morning .

“Just a nice workman type horse.”

Fah Fee, a four-year-old Ideal World (USA) gelding, trained by Ormond Ferraris, has won four races at the Vaal and Turffontein from 1200m to 1600m, and has been placed up to 2000m. In January he was second to Stonehenge over 1800m finishing 3.30 lengths ahead of Saturday’s runner Lava Flow who was in receipt of 1 kg.

Also over 1800m, in January 2015, Fah Fee finished fifth, 2.75 lengths off Ertijaal (AUS), and that day Deputy Jud, Greek Legend and French Navy filled the placings. He carried 56 kgs as did Ertijaal, Greek Legend and French Navy. Deputy Jud was on 54 kgs.

Another interesting runner. Apprentice Callan Murray rides on Saturday.
