Whichever way you look at it the Kirk Swanson stable has a super-strong hand in the Zimbabwe Guineas at Borrowdale Park on Sunday. It should be a great race.

The yard will saddle Dindingwe, True Beauty, Magnus Maximus and Diesel And Dust; Thomas Mason fields Jubilee, winner of two of his three starts up the straight at Borrowdale. Gokhan Terzi’s Mazikeen completes the line-up. This filly has the most racing experience and won her last start over the mile convincingly.

Dindingwe and True Beauty need no introduction having collected most of the three-year-old features between them. Apprentice Rodgers Satombo has steered Dindingwe to victory in the Champion Juvenile Stakes, the Breeders Fillies Mile and the recent Fillies Classic. He has the ride again but cannot claim his allowance here so Dindingwe meets chief rival True Beauty, the Tote Free winner, on level terms this time. The three fillies will all carry 55.5 kgs.

Teaque Gould will ride Diesel And Dust, winner of his only start – a 1700m Maiden. Magnus Maximus will have Gavin Lerena in the irons which should stand him in good stead. Jackson’s son won the Guineas Trial in February, finishing ahead of Obscure, Suave Judge and Mazikeen.

Lerena has ridden winners at Borrowdale before but has not been back for quite a while. He is booked to ride in six of the seven races on Sunday’s card which will certainly add spice to the meeting.The Guineas is the last race on the day and is due off at 16 15.
