When Norbert Takawira was stood down after a fall, Brendon McNaughton picked up the ride and won the 1300m Borrowdale Stud MR 80 Handicap with Gotago, narrowly beating Porterhouse and Newton Power.
The son of Kitalpha (USA) has won seven races, is owned by John Koumides, C. John Smith and Amanda and Heinrich von Pezold, and is trained by Kirk Swanson.
This was the second win for the Swanson stable on Sunday – and a second win for McNaughton who won the TBA Silver Slipper with Duffi’s Call.
